For Deleuze, such a conversion, such an empiricism, such a new art and will-to-art were, in fact, what was most needed in the new regime of communication and information-machines.<\/p>\n

  The last, seemingly minor question of \u201ca life\u201d is thus inseparable from Deleuze\u2019s striking image of philosophy not as a wisdom we already possess, but as a pure immanence of what is yet to come.   Gilles Deleuze<\/strong><\/em> (1925\u20131995) was professor of philosophy at the University of Paris, Vincennes\u2013St. Denis. He coauthored Anti-Oedipus<\/strong> <\/em>and A Thousand Plateaus<\/strong><\/em><\/a> with F\u00e9lix Guattari.<\/strong> <\/em>These works, as well as Cinema 1<\/a>, Cinema 2, The Fold, Proust and Signs,<\/strong><\/em> and others, are published in English by Univ.
